Purpose:

The Human Resources Intern will play a dual, high-impact role within the HR Department, working directly under the guidance of the HR Recruiter. The purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive administrative and operational support in executing the company’s Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) compliance strategy, while simultaneously assisting the talent acquisition function with end-to-end recruitment support when required to do so. This position offers an exceptional, accelerated learning framework by bridging strategic compliance initiatives with operational talent acquisition, establishing a robust foundation for a progressive career in corporate HR.

Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Assistance:

Draft and post approved job advertisements across relevant platforms.

Conduct initial CV screening and filter applications against specific Job Specifications to generate high-quality candidate shortlists.

Coordinate, schedule and confirm interview panels between shortlisted candidates, Hiring Managers and the HR team.

Maintain, update and optimize candidate databases, internal recruitment trackers and the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).

Initiate and follow up on candidate background verifications, including qualifications, credit, criminal checks, and professional reference tracking.

Support candidate care and employer branding initiatives, ensuring a professional, communicative, and positive candidate journey.

HR Administration & Executive Support:

Provide administrative support to the HR Recruiter on projects and daily operations

Maintain HR documentation, including compliance files and meeting records in line with data privacy standards

Assist with onboarding processes for new employees

Support performance management administration (tracking reviews and feedback cycles)

Assist with employee engagement initiatives and HR events

Respond to general HR queries and escalate where required

Provide general administrative support across HR projects and initiatives
